Home Restaurant Cape Town
Restaurant: Home
Situated: Hartfield village
Style: Contemporary
The restaurants name is 'Home' and I think there are some simple reasons why that is.
'Home' away from Home, is tucked into an old house that has been converted into a restaurant. This creates a very homely, not homey, feel! One walks onto the coble stone path way, passing the porch on your left and straight in thru the front door. Imagine a door bell at the 'Home Restaurant' could stop the queues.
Mm, soft light on warm burgundy walls, gives a cosy ambiance. Kinda feels like a fire is burning in the lounge and its warm light is reflected round the room. You can look across the table at your partner and feel warmth and comfort in the air.
One can see the owner of the 'Home Restaurant' behind the bar and waitering if needed or chatting to customers to make everyone feel at 'Home'. Like his cool, chilled out vibe as he takes a quick swig of his beer before approaching us to take the order. Nothing wrong in my eyes, food does not necessarily taste good if you snooty.
The 'Home restaurant' is a perfect informal eatery that still offers a delicious selection of perfect combinations.
I love food, but more importantly I love 'Good Food'. 'Home Restaurant' appeals to the advanced pallet, lol, such as myself lol.
The menu is written informally on a chalk board on the wall. Everything sounds good but as I am going for the healthy alternative decide to limit my 'Home' experience to the following:
Starter:
Brochette with goats cheese and drizzled with cranberry jelly.
The 'Home Restaurant' lives up to its homey name. I can do this at Home I thought, although have not yet.
Main:
Highly recommend the Seared Tuna served with roast vegetables and potato wedges. Mmm it came out heavenly. It was lightly seared on the outside and could have made sushi with the inside. Perfection.
Desert:
A quick twist of the arm, and an Irish coffee and frangelica coffee was brewed, with a swirl of cream to finish. What happened to eating healthy??
'Home Restaurant' is a perfect romantic evening not only for love but friends to. Make sure that keep tab on what you order, although 'Home restaurant is delectable, the wallet can feel it as well as the stomach.
